electroacoustic pioneers langham research centre and beatriz ferreyra headline at cafe oto.

Excellent double-bill featuring legendary Argentinian electro-acoustic composer Beatriz Ferreyra alongside Langham Research Centre, who make experimental music using resources and ideas that were previously considered obsolete. Extremely rare opportunity to see Beatriz Ferreyra live in London for the first time since 2020.

Ferreyra will be performing live with Cafe OTO’s multi-speaker setup, whilst LRC showcase their combinations of location recordings and electronic sounds, including analogue devices and a variety of sound-making objects.

The concert celebrates the launch of EP Tape Reworks, Vol. 2 (Nonclassical 2024, 7” and DL), featuring remixes by Ferreyra and Kara-Lis Coverdale. Ferreyra’s ‘Nachholbedürfnis’ is her first ever remix, whilst Coverdale’s ‘Movable Fields’ evokes the feel of a field recording from a strange planet. These works join LRC’s three previous releases on Nonclassical, which include Tape Reworks, Vol. 1, featuring remixes by the acclaimed Jim O’Rourke and Group A. The new 7” will be available at the discounted price of £8 for the concert, alongside tapes, vinyl and CD copies of LRC’s other releases.
